Castle Otttis is unlike anywhere else I film — a hand-built stone structure with the kind of texture and history that photographs (and films) like nowhere else in St. Augustine. Pairing it with the PK Roosevelt Room for the reception gives a wedding day two completely different visual chapters: the raw, almost medieval feel of the castle for the ceremony, then a warmer, more polished reception space to close out the night.

Because Castle Otttis is an outdoor, partially open-air structure, camera placement gets planned carefully around natural light and the stone's deep shadows — it's a location that rewards a documentary approach, letting the architecture do a lot of the visual storytelling rather than fighting it with heavy lighting setups.
